| Custom Tooling Profile
One of Tools & Production’s strengths is the knowledge and experience gathered in over 45 years of designing and manufacturing custom rotary punch units. This experience usually allows us to "know" what the customer needs, even if he or she doesn’t. In other words, the customer may know that they need to produce a finished product but may not know how it will be done. This is where T&P’s years of experience at producing solutions for specialty applications is a valuable resource. We not only know how to produce the punch unit, but we can also advise our customers on how the punch unit will interface with the rest of the printing or converting operation. While we may not have seen their exact application before, our experience with similar jobs in the past will ensure that the solution we come up with will be the best for the customer. Ticket Industry T&P has over 40 years experience supplying custom male/female rotary punch units for the ticket industry. Our tooling has helped hundreds of converters throughout the world produce all kinds of different tickets ranging from parking tickets, theater tickets, airline tickets, subway tickets, train tickets, etc.

Rotary punching’s contribution to the converting of these tickets is the ability to punch out and completely remove the various holes or slots that make up these tickets. Some of these tickets have very small round holes (1/16") or narrow slots (1.2 mm) that can be difficult or impossible to cut with an engraved diecut cylinder. However, T&P’s male/female punching tools can effectively remove these small holes each and every time. Let us put our years of experience to use to help you with your ticket converting applications. Fare Card Tooling This project involved designing and fabricating equipment that converts pre-printed rolls of 10 point polyester material used in the transit card industry. T&P has, over the last few years, manufactured several (4) station units which punch the 45-degree corner, the 1/8"" round index holes, and then punches out the entire card profile. The completed card is then vacuum-transferred onto a conveyor and processed through calendaring rolls. Specifications on these tickets are extremely tight, and T&P's tooling has had complete success in achieving the specified sizes. During a (6) hour shift, running at 300 feet per minute, 1,000,000 tickets can be manufactured and ready to ship to several of the major cities' transit stations on a daily basis.
